A story that seems to be increasingly relevant with the recent boom in AI, which ponders the intricacies of morality of human behaviors and actions toward genetically living creatures. Dick's worldbuilding is highly indicative of the time…

A quick and easy paperback, this book is a good read. It is very compelling plot with interesting ethical/moral questions. I think this book is even more relevant as we get closer and closer to the intelligence explosion. Is that a…

This book is my friend's all-time favorite book. I'm normally not a sci-fi enthusiast, but the story is notably strong and entertaining. The story burns the reader into asking so many humanist and other philosophical questions. What…

Having gone into this book after watching blade runner, it was hard not to feel like the book dates itself at times, but it more than makes up for it during the middle third of the book. I can definitely see myself revisiting this one at…

You probably think of this as the inspiration for the film, *Blade Runner*. The book is different in many ways – not better or worse, really, just different. The book itself is an SF classic, bringing up some original moral dilemmas 55…

The novel serves to remind us how much of the story was thrown out when Ridley Scott made the film. The exploitation of android slave labour by Rosen's company is well described by Dick; it's a far more sinister operation than in the film.

This books is instrumental to the Sci Fi genre and it was a very interesting take on colonization and the structure of the android species but I was very annoyed by the level of misogyny of this book. I suppose I should expect that from a…

Iconic book, and worth reading. Very easy read too. However, dare I say not as impactful as Blade Runner (movie version). Book is different, but still interesting.

There were so many unique and spectacular aspects of this novel that fell off into nothing. Though an interesting view of humanity and the future, it also carried heavy tones of a man who hates women in a way that has naught to do with the…

Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner is one of the most influential science-fiction films of all time. However, little of that same treatment is given to its inspiration, Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? The plot revolves…

A brilliant piece of speculative fiction built around a central question: what does it mean to be human? In addition to a compelling narrative, the book explores this question in a few different ways, but ultimately comes to a few…

SO 1968!! This book falls solidly into the 1960's style of dystopian sci-fi. Think Logan's Run, Fahrenheit 451, 1984 (the one with Edmond O'Brien), the original Star Trek series (which weren't so dystopian - but you get my drift.) Just to…
